Thayeria boehlkei is a species of characin fish endemic to the Amazon river basin and Araguaia river, in Peru and Brazil respectively.

Thayeria boehlkei is known in the aquarium trade variously as hockeystick tetra, penguin tetra, penguin fish or blackline penguinfish, after the black markings on its body. It grows to about 3 inches (7.6 cm), and hails from the Amazon and Araguaia river basins of South America.Penguin tetras are fun schooling fish to keep. They are active fish that get along peacefully with other penguin tetras and other species that are calm and similar in size.

Type of water

Use only Borewell water for Gold fish,Koi,Guppy and cichlids

Use RO or soft low TDS water for Tetras /shrimps/rasboras all planted tank fishes Best is RO water
